Abstract

Objectives: To determine the percentages of different urinary diseases and analyse the clinical, paraclinical characteristics and decision making at The surgical department of Hue medical and pharmaceutical university hospital. Materials and method: 311 patients who were diagnosed urinary disease treated in the surgical department of Hue University Hospital from 5/2010 to 3/2011. This is prospective study, clinical descriptive and analysis. Results The average age is 47.65±22.94 (2-96), higher incidence at age group of 40-49 (20.6%) and 50-59 (17.6%), urinary diseases occurred frequently in men than women, ratio of male/female is 2.571. Classification of disease: urinary stones 56.9%, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) 15.1%, phimosis 12.9%, superficial bladder cancer 3.2%, urethral stricture 2.6%, ureteropelvic junction obstruction 1.9%, hypospadias 2.3%, renal cyst 2.3%, renal tumor 0.3%, urinary system trauma 1.3%, urinary tract infection 1.3%. We perfomed the operations in programme 87.5%, in emergency 2.6% and medical treament 12.2%. Conclusions: The higher percentages of operations were ureteral lithotomy by open surgery 17.0%, ureteroscopic lithotripsy 13.2%, nephrolithotomy by open surgery 11.9%, circumcisions 10.6%, transurethral resection of the prostate 10.0%, transurethral resection of vesical tumors 3.2%. The average post-operations time was 5,49 ± 2,85 days. The average post-operation days in endoscopic surgery group were shorter than open surgery group but their percentages were smaller.
