Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the Perceived Predictors of Performance in the Board Examinations Among Graduates of Licensure Examination Programs at the University of Southern Mindanao. This descriptive analysis employed descriptive-survey research design A standardized questionnaire titled Perceived Causes of Academic Failure Inventory (PCAFI) to identify factors and causes that are contributory to their performance during the board examination. Results showed that problems with learning environment specifically “There are too many things to memorize” with a mean of 2.67 and Problems with content examination specifically “Examinations are very stressful” with a mean of 2.29 were identified to be the key predictors of their performance in the licensure examination. This study recommends intervention programs and mechanisms in improving the conduct board examination preparation review programs in the university which primarily addresses at reducing test anxiety while improving test-taking skills and study strategies. Also, further study can be conducted using other designs, and variables for more valid results.
