Abstract

While prior research affirmed a positive link between entrepreneurial passion (EP) and entrepreneurial intention (EI), some moderators have been examined—suggesting potential boundary conditions on such a relationship. This study introduces perceived person–entrepreneurship fit to EP literature and suggests that it moderates the EP–EI relationship. The research was conducted at a major Chinese public sector university that includes a survey. Results revealed that EI is highly influenced by EP for founding when a strong perception of fit with entrepreneurship is attained. Conversely, if one perceives a low-level fit or no fit, then EI is low regardless of EP.
