Abstract

29 employees who participated in an employees' aerobic fitness program were asked to rate effects of participation along several psychological and physical dimensions. Analysis indicated employees felt aerobic dance helped them in various ways, the largest effect being stress reduction, followed by increased stamina/endurance, improvement in mood, improvement in self-concept, and improved flexibility. These results are discussed in terms of measuring effectiveness of worksite aerobic fitness classes and the importance of a comprehensive evaluation which includes an objective external criterion.
