Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of the research is to find out the program, the program process can be carried out, thedriving factors and inhibition of the Interfaith Youth Communication Forum (FKPELA) inmaintaining tolerance between religious people in Singkawang City, as well as a picture of tolerancebetween religious people in the community in Singkawang City. This research is qualitative researchusing descriptive methods. Source of this research data is the members and chairmen of FKPELA aswell as the community in Singkawang City. Data is obtained through observation, interviews, andthrough secondary data. The results of this study show that the FKPELA program in maintainingtolerance is a declaration of unity and diversity of peace, interfaith dialogue, friendship withreligious institutions, statements of attitudes and commemorating national holidays. The process ofimplementing the program there is an FKPELA program that is carried out per year, monthly andcarried out according to the situation and conditions. Collaborating with several religiousinstitutions, interfaith youth and religious leaders and religious leaders in Singkawang City.Supporting factors are the strong sense of desire from the members, the existence of an activity plan,the support of the community and the Singkawang City government, inhibiting factors, namely thefacilities and secretariat have not supported, lack of sense of responsibility of members, determinethe role and responsibility of each member in the activities and lack of funding that is owned. Thepicture of tolerance between religious people in Singkawang City can be seen that people continueto live in harmony, tolerance and side by side even though they have different backgrounds,especially religions, accept each other's differences and learn something from others, and cooperatewith each other to succeed religious activities such as maintaining order and security for religiouspeople who are carrying out the holiday.Keywords: FKPELA Singkawang, Tolerance Between Religious People, Youth
