Abstract
A company must be able to survive and compete must be supported by good human resource management. This study aims to analyze the role of work life balance in mediating the effect of workload on employee work stress at the Discovery Kartika Plaza Kuta Hotel. This study used a sample of 106 employees. The method used in this study is a survey method with questionnaire techniques and interviews with the PLS-based inferential statistical analysis tool Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that workload has a positive effect on work stress. Workload has a negative effect on work life balance, work life balance has a negative effect on work stress, and workload can be mediated by work life balance on work stress. The implications of this research are to prove The Job Demands Control Model Theory and its relation to research variables.
