Abstract

This study aims to determine how the efforts of parents to increase the motivation to learn Religion in adolescent teeneger. This research is motivated because nowadays there are many parents who have difficulty in motivating their teeneger to study Religion, or even difficulties in teaching Religion to their teeneger, due to influences from the environment, associations or influences from within the child. This can lead to negative actions like online game addiction, adultery, etc. Therefore, parents must continue to strive to motivate their children to study religion, so that children can avoid these negative actions. The research was carried out in Kusumodilagan Village, Joyosuran Village, Pasar Kliwon District, Surakarta, precisely in RW 12. The type of research that will be conducted is field research. The approach that will be used in this research is a qualitative phenomenological approach through case study research. In obtaining valid data to support research needs, researchers used the methods of observation, interviews, and documentation in the data collection process. Data analysis techniques that will be used in this study apply data reduction techniques, data presentation and conclusion drawing and data verification. Then, to ensure the validity of the data and the retrieval, the technique triangulation and source triangulation are used. This study concludes that the efforts of parents start from showing attention, being a good exemple and encouranging children, meeting needs and giving gifts or punishment for their children. Meanwhile, the findings of the constraints and solutions of parents' efforts in increasing motivation to learn Religion are based on two factors, namely factors whose influence comes from within (interistic) and factors whose influence comes from outside (exteristic).
