Abstract
This study aims to describe the principal's efforts to improve teacher performance and how the principal coordinates with the parents of students to participate in the distance learning process. The results of this study indicate that efforts to improve teacher performance during the COVID-19 pandemic in schools are very good, in terms of planning, mobilizing teachers to follow technical guidance, coordinating with parents of students as "daily implementers" at home who temporarily replace teachers in teaching and learning activities. supervision, guidance and implementation of distance learning. The principal always monitors, supervises, controls, directs, guides and evaluates distance learning programs. Then the participation of parents is very cooperative and supports distance learning activities so that learning is carried out well. Distance learning is very effective in evaluating assignments, students get very good grades, but for the concept understanding process, the material is slightly decreased from the online learning process. This shows that during the Covid 19 pandemic, the role of the Principal in providing education is a priority for planning intervention plans
