Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the BKKBN in accelerating the reduction of the stunting rate in Indonesia and the efforts made by the BKKBN in accelerating the reduction of the stunting rate in terms of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 72 of 2021 which is the legal basis for implementing the stunting reduction program in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative approach through descriptive analysis method based on the study of the literature obtained and then used as material for analysis. The results of this study indicate that the BKKBN has a very important role in reducing stunting rates in Indonesia. This is because the BKKBN was appointed as the implementing coordinator in the stunting reduction program as stipulated in article 15 paragraph 2 of Presidential Decree Number 72 of 2021. The task of the BKKBN is to coordinate, synergize, and evaluate the implementation of the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction in an effective, convergent and integrated manner by involving cross-sectors in central and regional levels. In an effort to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates, the BKKBN as the chief executive has issued a National Action Plan to Accelerate the Reduction of Stunting Rates in Indonesia (RAN PASTI) as a reference in implementing the acceleration of stunting reduction for Ministries and Agencies, Provincial Governments, District/City Governments, Village Governments, as well as other stakeholders. The framework used in RAN PASTI focuses on three (3) approaches, namely the nutrition intervention approach, the multi-sector and multi-stakeholder approach, and the family-based approach at risk of stunting.
