Abstract

A psychologist, who is coordinator-director, assisted by several professional staff persons, including a health department psychiatrist, school psychologists, pupil personnel workers, and school counselors, etc., and accompanied by a group of women volunteers who have been trained as mental health aides, provides adult county residents with information and counseling regarding mental health problems related to teen-agers. The Parents Exchange on Problems of Youth offers those in the community an "open house" once a week to discuss their interests and concerns, as well as to provide a forum for professionals and lay people to discuss broad mental health topics pertaining to teen-agers.
