Abstract

Abstract: Italian comics are increasingly present in bookshops and newsstands alike. Evolving into a new, book-like format—with its associated legitimacy—this medium tries to appeal to young readers who are used to reading picturebooks. Among these newly emerging Italian comics is Diabolo Edizioni’s Peperini series—a prime example of formal and thematic innovation.
