Abstract

People with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) often report fatigue during routine mobility tasks. Some of this fatigue could be due to the increased energy cost of tasks. We aimed to compare oxygen consumption (VO2) during mobility tasks between individuals with MS and matched controls. The secondary aims were to estimate the differences in total metabolic equivalent (MET) of tasks, the percentages of VO2 peak used and the percentage of VO2 reserve used while walking.
