Abstract

Single crystals of two pentanary cesium titanyl/titanate silicate oxyfluorides, Cs3(TiO)Si4O10F and Cs17(TiO)12Ti2Si8O40F, were grown from mixed cesium halide fluxes. Cs3(TiO)Si4O10F crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with lattice parameters a = 6.9528(2) Å, b = 14.9471(4) Å, c = 12.7676(3) Å, and β = 91.2500(10)° and consists of a framework comprised of silicate sheets and (TiO)O4F octahedra. Cs17(TiO)12Ti2Si8O40F crystallizes in the tetragonal space group I4/m with lattice parameters a = 16.2181(4) Å and c = 13.3866(3) Å and is composed of two interpenetrating titanate silicate frameworks.
