Abstract

This article presents the results of inquiries carried out with the Kankuamo and Kogui peoples from Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia, specifically about their conceptions of education and communication in the symbolic field. In this framework, the descriptions of three categorical findings: 1) thought as a link of the available elements of synchronously in sacred contexts. 2) law of origin, understood as extrahuman narrative, which has foundational character. 3) “people construction,” as a cultural interpretation of conceptions of citizenship determined by forms of interaction and identity. The methodology used to this study applies elements of multi-sited and critical ethnography, and its analysis is carried out highlighting community testimonies, giving voice to the perception of the actors.
