Abstract
A model is constructed to evaluate the stress intensity factor (SIF) for a non-homogeneous multilayered composite with an interlaminar penny-shaped crack subjected to an axially symmetric torsion. The mixed boundary value problem is reduced to solving a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind. The Fredholm integral equation is solved numerically by reducing it to a system of simultaneous algebraic equations. Numerical results for the stress intensity factor are presented in the form of graphs.
