Abstract

Communication skills should be dominated by students as a long-term preparation step in working on competent knowledge and skills to face the global working market. Project-oriented Learning Approach (PBP) Animation is an innovation in today's education that can increase the mastery of student communication skills in learning. This article aims to identify the mastering of student communication skills through animated-oriented project-based learning in Islamic communication and broadcasting courses at Kuching Sarawak Polytechnic. The research methodology implemented was through a quantitative survey study using questionnaire via Google Form software as a research instrument. The sample of this study involved 177 semester five students taking Islamic communications and broadcasting courses at Kuching Sarawak Polytechnic and elected random sampling easily. The study data was analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software version 26.0. The findings show that the mastery of student communication skills in animated PBP is high. Analysis found that there was no difference in the level of communication skills through animated PBP against gender and field of study. Hence, the lecturer is hoped that lecturers can mold the animation of animated PBP approaches as an alternative method in enhancing the mastery of student communication skills to ensure the continuity of the Islamic education system in polytechnic institutions expanding in tandem with the demands and requirements of the 21st century learning.
