Abstract

Speech acts have an important role in the learning process. One of them is expressive speech acts because they contain psychological expressions from the teacher. Expressive speech acts uttered by the teacher are able to shape student character and motivate students. The purpose of this study is to describe expressive speech acts used by teachers in the Indonesian language learning process in class IV SD Negeri 2 Tegalombo, Tersono District, Batang Regency. In this study using qualitative research with descriptive research type. The results showed that there were 5 types of expressive utterances with a total of 32 utterances. This shows that the expressive speech acts used by the teacher in the learning process are still minimal so that the interactions that occur need to be increased so that they can build a school culture and can be implemented properly.
