Abstract

Islamic Education has produced graduates who are cognitively relatively good, but in fact there are indications that the results of Islamic Education in cognitive aspects are not directly proportional to the practice of Islamic teachings and values. This indicates that Islamic Education in schools faces problems that need to be addressed immediately in order to run according to its objectives. Therefore, the community demands as users of Islamic Education for efforts to organize and modernize the system and process of Islamic Education so that it becomes quality, relevant, and able to respond to changes and improve the quality of Indonesian people. The strategy for developing Islamic education should be chosen from the most urgent and basic activities and has a central position, namely directed and continuous curriculum changes. Based on this background, the approach used in this research is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, namely the researcher tries to uncover the facts of the object under study in natural conditions. The results showed that curriculum development was carried out through three steps of planning, implementation, and evaluation. Planning by preparing learning tools, then implementing the learning tools that have been prepared, and evaluating to find out the success of implementing the curriculum
