Abstract

The lack of supporting information based on local potential is one of the factors contributing to the challenges of learning with the concept of diversity. One of the areas in Tanah Laut Regency that has a diversity of bird species has the potential to be used as additional reading material in the Animal Ecology course that focuses on the region. The area is Sari Embun Lake. Plomp's research and development methodology was used in this study. The handout creation process contains the following characteristics: visually appealing display that displays original pictures of research results, and the information discussed is data based on research results. The readability test results obtained a score of 88.79% with very good criteria, while the validation test results obtained a score of 3.67 with very valid criteria. This handout product is suitable for use as additional reading in the Animal Ecology course based on the results of the trial.
