Abstract

Ornamental chilies are a type of plant that serves as decoration indoors and outdoors. The growth and production depend on the growing medium and fertilizers. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of rice husk media and goat manure on the growth and yield of ornamental chilies (Rainbow Chili). The study was conducted with a two-factor randomized block design (RBD), which was arranged in factorial manner. The first factor was the dose of rice husk (S) which consisted of 4 levels, namely: without rice husk (S0 = control); 20 ton / ha (S1); 35 ton / ha (S2); and 50 tonnes / ha (S3). Second factor: the dose of goat manure (K) which consists of 3 levels, namely: without goat manure (K0); 40 ton / ha (K1); 80 ton / ha (K2). The data were analyzed by analyzed of variance and continued with the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at 5% level. The results showed that there was no interaction between giving rice husks and manure to plant height, number of leaves, number of branches, number of fruits, and fruit weight. The Aplication of rice husks at a dose of 50 tonnes / ha increased growth in plant height, number of leaves, number of branches and weight of fruit. Meanwhile, the applications of goat manure at a dose of 80 tonnes / ha gave increased growth in the number of leaves and weight of fruit
