Abstract

Abstract This research is based on a matter of low average student learning outcomes in the Basic Design subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Ampek Angkek. This study discusses how to use video tutorial media on the learning outcomes of Basic Design X class students of Fashion Vocational School 1 Ampek Angkek. This research method is a quasi-experimental study with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample selection is done by nonprobality sampling technique with total sampling or saturated sampling. This study uses two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. As an experimental class X TB2 class uses video tutorial media and the control class is XTB1 class using conventional media. The technique of collecting data from the post-test values in the experimental and control classes, then analyzed for normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study are the experimental class get an average value of 85.39 and the control class get an average value of 81.94. The results of calculation of the hypothesis at a significant level α = 0.10 obtained tcount> ttable (1.619> 1,296), because tcount is greater than ttable, then the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Thus, the hypothesis is accepted where there is a significant influence on the use of video tutorial media compared to the use of conventional media on learning outcomes of the Basic Design of Class X Students of Fashion Vocational School 1 Ampek Angkek.
