Abstract

Complexity of the work in the laboratory has health accident risk or transmission of disease to health assistant, especially student and laboratory assistant. To address may need embedded safety culture i.e. with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage appropriately. The main domain of behavior Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage are knowledge (knowledge), attitudes (attitude), and motivation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of knowledge, attitude and motivation to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage in the First Grade D-III Health Analyst Student of Setia Budi University Surakarta so created work environment which are safe, healthy and productive to the learning process goes well. This study was descriptive study with cross sectional associative. Data collection techniques by questionnaire and observation. Data analysis using F test and T test to saw wheter there was significant effect between the three independent variables on the dependent variable by SPSS version 17.0. The results showed that there was significant relationship between knowledge (tX1 = 2.162), attitude (tx2 = -2070), and motivation (tx3 = 4.253) to the personal protective equipment usage in the laboratory of Setia Budi University Surakarta.
