Abstract

To solve the problem, student have to own creative thinking ability then student can deliver creative solutions. Open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy was one of right alternative which used to improving student creative thinking ability. The research method was using quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. Population of the research were fifth grade elementary school student in North Sumedang subsdriction. Sample of the research were Bendungan 2 Elementary School as experiment class and Sukamulya Elementary School as control class. After learning during four times meeting, both at Bendungan 2 Elementary School and Sukamulya Elementary School that student creative thinking skill have improved. Proved that open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy and conventional approach gave positive effect to mathematical creative thinking ability. But, based on N-gain average value, there’s no difference between positive effect given by open-ended approach with M-RTE strategy and conventional approach.
