Abstract

To increase the use of waste paper as a fanel substitute for wood, it is necessary to conduct a training program accompanied by assistance to the community so that the community can immediately apply it with good results. This program needs to be done to increase income, fishing communities in South Ampenan Beach through productive activities, when not at sea. This program is carried out at The Griya Lombok which is an experienced and very well-known SME in Indonesia in processing waste paper into various products. The methods used in this program are training, direct practice, mentoring and focused group discussions (FGD) so that participants can apply paper recycling methods into wood substitute fanel directly in the field. In this activity, an evaluation was also carried out through a Likert scale questionnaire to determine the % level of understanding of the fishing community the fishing community on the 4 variables assessed. The result of this program is that this service activity runs very well, understanding of the 4 variables assessed, all of them have increased and resulted in a very high average increase in understanding of 98.96%. The highest increase in understanding was in the skill variable in making products from paper waste (PPK) by 125.00%, and the lowest was in the variable Understanding paper waste can be of economic value (KPE) which is 70.83%.
