Abstract

Patient with chronic kidney disease (CKD), especially those on dialysis, often suffer from muscle wasting and excessive fatique. Patient continue to experience significant impairment of quality of life. Exercise in patient receiving reguler dialysis treatment is still only offered in a minority of renal units. The current study was designed to determine the effect of exercise training (intradialytic) related quality of life among patient with haemodialysis at PMI hospital Bogor. Design of the research was experiment quasi with pretest-posttest design. Thirty subjects voluntereed to participate in the study following 10 weeks (20 times) exercise training programme. Short Form-36 (SF-36) questionnaire was evaluated at beginning and end of the study. After training patient demonstrated a significant improvement in the physical component scaleof the SF-36 (from 56,6 to 64,56, P < 0,05).
