Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine (1) the impact of social competence on employee performance at the Department of Housing, Settlement, and Land Affairs of Buleleng Regency, (2) the impact of social competence on employee performance through employee motivation at the Department of Housing, Settlement, and Land Affairs of Buleleng Regency, and (3) the impact of employee motivation on employee performance at the Department of Housing, Settlement, and Land Affairs of Buleleng Regency. This study utilized a quantitative causal design. The subjects of this study were all contract employees at the Department of Housing, Settlement, and Land Affairs of Buleleng Regency. The results of this study indicate that: (1) social competence has a positive and significant impact on employee performance at the Department of Housing, Settlement, and Land Affairs of Buleleng Regency, (2) social competence has a positive and significant impact on employee performance through employee motivation at the Department of Housing, Settlement, and Land Affairs of Buleleng Regency, and (3) employee motivation has a positive and significant impact on employee performance at the Department of Housing, Settlement, and Land Affairs of Buleleng Regency.
