Abstract

Teladan Public Health Center Kota Medan has been carrying out the CDMP program since August 2014 with a total membership of 135 members. However, among the total participants only around 37% were active in joining the program. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of individual characteristics and family support on the activeness of participants in the Chronic Disease Management Program (Prolanis) at Teladan Public Health Center Kota Medan. This type of research is an explanatory survey survey with cross sectional design. The population of this study were all 135 Prolanis participants registered at the Teladan Public Health Center Kota Medan with a total sample of 101 respondents taken using simple random sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate analysis, bivariate analysis using chi-square test statistics and multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression test statistics. The results showed that the variables effectoto the activeness of Prolanis participants were occupation (p = 0.005), duration of illness (p = 0.002), level of knowledge (p = 0.008) and family support (p = 0,004).
