Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of contextual learning on mathematics learning outcomes with covariable numerical ability and verbal ability. This research is a quasi experimental research with single factor design of group design with use of covariate. The population in this study were Grade VI students of Elementary School Cluster I District of Negara. Sample in this study amounted to 67 students determined by random sampling technique. Data were collected with mathematics learning outcomes, numerical abilities and verbal skills. The results showed that there were differences in learning outcomes of Mathematics between students who followed contextual learning with students who followed conventional learning and there is contribution of numerical ability and ability verbal of Mathematics learning outcomes
