Abstract

Work discipline and extrinsic motivation are functions in human resource management that are important to study their effects on employee performance. Issues of performance, discipline and extrinsic motivation are in the spotlight, especially for civil servants, especially at the Office of Communication and Information in the City of Serang. In the initial survey, employee performance variables at the Communication and Informatics Office of Serang City received a score of 59.3, work discipline variable scored 59.5 and extrinsic motivation scored 58, all variables are below the average standard score and far below the expected value 100. Seeing the phenomenon mentioned above, it is very relevant if this research is studied. This study aims to determine the effect of work discipline and extrinsic motivation on employee performance at the Office of Communication and Informatics. This research was conducted using a quantitative descriptive method, through various analyzes and tests; reliability, multiple linear regression, coefficient of determination, t and , SPSS v25. The population in this study amounted to 82 employees which is a saturated sample. Data sourced from primary and secondary data. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that, 1) there is a significant influence between work discipline on employee performance, 2) there is a significant effect between extrinsic motivation on employee performance, 3) there is a significant influence between work discipline and extrinsic motivation simultaneously with employee performance
