Abstract

In the Faculty of Dentistry, the two fingers clasp for long span saddle denture is still oftenly been appiled. It is assumed that this construction may affect the mobility of abutment tooth, due to the active force of the clasp which is similar with orthodontic force, or due to the unstable denture. Based on the above – mentioned assumption, the study has been conducted among 75 patients, who has used long saddle denture (both bounded and free end saddle) for two – four years. The result showed that there was not any significant difference on teeth mobility among sound teeth, filled teeth and recession teeth. It is concluded that the two fingers clasp did not affect the mobility of abutment teeth of long saddle denture, since the pre prosthodontic treatments were provided and the oral hygiene was maintained by the patients.
