Abstract

This research aims to describe the effect of guided inquiry-based teaching materials assisted by V-Labs to improve students' science literacy after using the V-Lab (Virtual Laboratory). The method in this study is a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group design where the sampling technique uses purposive sampling. The selected research sample is X-MIA 1 as the control class and X-MIA 5 as the experimental class. This research was conducted at MAN 2 Deli Serdang in June 2022. The data collection technique used a scientific literacy test. The results showed that there was an effect of guided inquiry-based teaching materials assisted by v-labs in improving students' scientific literacy with the t-test at = 0.05 obtained sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00 (p<0.05). The average posttest value is 13.39 and the N-Gain value is 0.69 in the medium category. In addition, it can also be seen an increase in aspects of scientific literacy, namely 82% competence, 63% context and 72% knowledge.
