Abstract

Abstract

Past research reveals the positive effect of social media in reducing stress and providing social support to promote health and wellbeing. However, research in the teacher’s context is still limited and thus requires further investigation. This research is aimed at measuring the effect of social media activities on the health and wellbeing of active teachers currently teaching grades 7-12 in a Christian school in Indonesia. The Effort Reward Imbalance (ERI) model is used to measure the stress level while the Teacher Subjective Wellbeing Questionnaire (TSWQ) is used to measure the health and well-being of 68 targetted teachers. Data is analyzed and processed using the PLS-SEM method. The results show that social media activities have a positive effect on the health and well-being of teachers when mediated by teacher reward while teacher effort has a negative effect on the health and well-being of teachers.

Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak
