Abstract

Dose measurements of neutrons and photons have been carried out outside shielding concrete from a 269 (and 325) MeV electron beam hitting a thick iron target, and the results are presented. For neutrons, the present experiment gives a dose value about 13 of that derived from the calculational result based on a work by Alsmiller and Barish at a depth of 300 gcm−2 and about 12 at 400 gcm−2. For photons, the present depth-dose curve is in reasonable agreement with the result of Jenkins, but with a stronger angular dependence.
