Abstract

A study has been made of the tissue distribution of Cu 64 through the mediation of 13 chelates. These results are compared with ionic copper and copper bound to ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. From these data, 4 compounds, alanine, cysteine, isonicotinic acid hydrazide, and diethylenetri-aminepentaacetic acid, have emerged as promising agents for use with Cu 64 in the localization of brain tumors by a scanning procedure. The effect of these ligands, on the movement of metals, is also discussed.
