Abstract

This research aims to improve students’ learnng activites and learning outcomes through the implementation of CTL approach. Classroom action research is conducted in two cycles. The subjects of research were 25 students in V-A SDN C Kota Bandung of 2017/2018. The data were collected through the learning activities observation and learning outcomes test. Data were collected using quantitative and qualitative descriptive statistical analysis method. The analysis indicates that there is an increase in student learning activites. On pre research, the average of learning activities reach 44. It also increase become 83 on cycle I, and increase become 96 on cycle II. An increase also occured in learning outcomes. On pre research, the average of learning outcomes reach 42. It also increase become 74 on cycle I, and increase become 86 on cycle II. It is concluded that the CTL approach can improve the fifth grade students’ learning activities and learning outcomes.
