Abstract

This research is motivated by poor student learning outcomes in learning mathematics. With these problems, efforts are made to improve learning so that student learning outcomes can increase. To improve student learning outcomes, researchers used the Problem Based Learning model. This learning model makes a problem the main point in learning. The purpose of this study was to analyze the Problem Based Learning learning model for the learning outcomes of mathematics in class IV elementary school students. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were class IV students, totaling 28 people. The object of research is the result of learning mathematics. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of the research show that the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade students in mathematics. This is evidenced by the results of student learning in pre-cycle with an average value of 55.8 which is in the very low category, cycle I with an average value of 56.9 which is in the low category and in cycle II the average increase is 75 .2 and 75% mastery learning with high category. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning learning model can improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade students in mathematics.
