Abstract
questions technique to improve the skills of inquiring third grade students of elementary school. The purpose of this study is to describe the development and improvement of learning by applying problem based learning model using probing questions technique. This research is motivated by low student's skill of 76% of students have not been able to ask questions and make inquiries. The method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) conducted in one elementary school of Bandung with the subject of research amounted to 21 students consisting of 10 boy and 11 girl . This PTK is done by applying the PBL model using probing questions technique consisting of: problem orientation, problem identification, information gathering, presentation of work, and evaluation. The questioning skills in this study include: able to ask questions in the learning process orally, the questions posed relevant to the material being studied, able to compile questions with words / sentences correctly, able to make the question of a problem by digging in writing, and able to answer questions effectively. Based on this research found that there is an increase in question skill in the first cycle of 33% increased by 62% to 95% in the second cycle. Based on the data of this research, it can be concluded that the application of problem based learning model using probing questions technique can improve student's questioning skill as evidenced by the improvement of learning result.
