Abstract

As a student in the health insurance study program who will work later in the insurance sector, both social insurance and private insurance, it is important for students to understand everything about insurance well. To be able to understand the lecture topic well, students should learn by methods that further enhance the active participation of students rather than learning passively. For this reason, this study will be tested on the delivery of topic to students using the jigsaw cooperative learning method, then the effectiveness of the learning method. This research is a quasi-experimental study by comparing the results of post-test groups of students studying with the jigsaw method and students studying with lecture methods on two lecture materials in two sessions. The results showed that the mean results of post-test scores between students studying with jigsaw and lectures differed significantly. For further research, evaluation should be carried out by looking at the results of the exam, not just the results of the post-test at session. Keywords: Learning method, cooperative learning, jigsaw, basic principles of insurance
