Abstract

ABSTRACT This research is entitled the application of competence based curriculum in senior high school level located in Depok. The research is aimed to see how the method of teaching and learning of English in Senior High Student in Depok, particularly vocational education program. This is the field research done directly to the 10 location of senior high school in Depok. Based on the reality taken on observation interview, and documentary study, the research team finds out that all senior high school vocational programs already done the teaching and learning process of English based on the standard competence stated on syllabus and most of the teachers already design and write the guidelines of material as well as the achievement or the minimal standard of competency the student have to reach by learning one sub topic. Some difficulties experienced by the teachers on teaching English based on the competency are: the less knowledge of students and the few facility on teaching and learning process of English.
