Abstract

This article tries to examine and study the position of the family as an educational environment in the perspective of the Prophet's hadith. In any learning activity, environmental factors play a very important role, because through the environment one's character, character and character can be developed. The environment gives its own style and color for human development. Family is the first environment for every child to get an education, even the family is the first bastion for every child to avoid hell. The study of hadith begins with mentakhrij hadiths related to the family environment, then carries out I'tibar sanad and review of sanad hadith and then explains the hadith on two things, namely; 1) fitrah is both good and bad potential at the same time, the possibility of being a Muslim and a polytheist. Simply put, fitrah here is defined as the potential to hold on to religion as well as the possibility of not holding on to religion. 2) The urgency of the family as an educational environment for a child. To develop a child's potential in a good direction, the first, foremost and very important educational environment for a child is the family environment, because children get their first experience with the family, especially from their parents.
 Parents or mothers and fathers play an important and influential role in the education of their children. Therefore, parents and family as an educational environment need to take steps to develop a child's nature or potential. Among these steps is Luqmanul Hakim's educational model described in QS. Luqman (31): 12 – 19
