  • Muhammad Yusuf + 2 more

Moral decadence may arise as a result of a lack of understanding of the meaning and relevance of faith itself. Unfavorable environmental conditions can have an impact on morale and educational disorientation, which is known if the current learning orientation is to obtain good grades. They do not understand and master the knowledge and abilities they should master. In this case, education has a very important role in achieving the true goals of students' education optimally. Where the school has become a second parent for children who in the process really want to create and present the best for the development of students so that they can confidently create a happy and prosperous life in this world and the hereafter. Therefore, the material offered by Islamic religious education includes elements contained in the Koran and Sunnah. The PAI material that is presented must also follow developments in the challenges that exist in society, and the existing material must also be packaged in such a way that it is not out of date and remains guided by the sources of the Koran and Sunnah. That way we can answer and overcome phenomena that occur, such as moral decadence in this digital era. The aim of this research is to provide an overview of how to integrate Islamic religious education materials in efforts to prevent moral decadence in the current digital era. Collaborative governance in coping with HIV/AIDS has been ineffective, thus HIV/AIDS case increases in number continuously. This research aimed to analyze system context and drivers contributing to collaborative governance in coping with HIV/AIDS in Surakarta Indonesia. The target groups of this explorative research were government, non-government, and community contributing to HIV/AIDS management in Surakarta. Observation, in-depth interview and documentation techniques were used to collect primary and secondary data, and then data validity and reliability were tested using source and method triangulations. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model of analysis with Parsons’ functional structural theory. The result of research showed ineffective collaborative governance between Surakarta AIDS Commission, Work Group, Health Office, NGO, and Citizens Caring about AIDS, because of stakeholders’ less optimal commitment and participation in coping with HIV/AIDS, poor coordination between stakeholders, communication, information, and education of HIV/AIDS still limited to and not reaching entire community, and inadequate non-transparent budget still dependent on donor institution in conducting activities. These both inhibit and encourage dynamic collaboration. Collaborative governance of HIV/AIDS management can develop in optimal resource context, clear legal framework and deal with political dynamic and inter-actor conflict issues, community-government relation, conducive social-economic network and condition.

  • Achmad Hidir + 5 more

This study aims to analyze the role and interpretation of Sociology students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) of Riau University regarding the role of academic advisors (PA). Paradigmatically, Parsons' structural functionalism theory is often identified with a quantitative approach. However, this study consciously employs Parsons' Role Theory as the theoretical framework for qualitative research, as it focuses on the concepts of “role” and “role expectations,” which are relevant for an in-depth exploration from the students' perspective. The method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design. Primary data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with 2023 sociology students selected purposively. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's interactive model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion-drawing. The results show that students have diverse interpretations of the role of PA lecturers, which are often adapted to their personal needs and experiences. The main findings reveal a gap between students' role expectations and the role performance they perceive from academic advisors. This study concludes that the implementation of the academic advising system at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Riau, has not been fully effective in meeting students' expectations, and further evaluation is needed to bridge this gap between the two.

  • Lukman Fajariyah

This paper explored the life of social stratification of the Madurese society and the usage of Bhasa Madhura (Madurese language) by using two theories, namely Talcott Parsons’ structural functionalism theory and stratification theory by Paul B. Horton. The research method used in this research was a qualitative descriptive method. The authors based this research on literature review and empirical data by observation and interviews. Through data analysis, the author uncovered several findings. First, the social stratification styles of the Madurese society in the context of status, class, and occupation was divided into three types, namely the levels of the oreng kenek, pongghaba, and parjaji communities. Second, the social stratification styles from religious context were divided into six types, including keyae, ajji, modin, bindharah, santre, and banne santre. Third, the usage of Bhasa Madhura in the Madurese social stratification was divided into different honorifics, from the highest and most polite honorific to the lowest or impolite honorific. Besides that, the usage of abhasa (enggi bunten) styles and ta’abhasa (enja’-iye) styles also occur in some aspects of Madurese conditional and contextual life. The findings of this study could be used to advise the preservation of Bhasa Madhura in the social stratification realm.

Text Data Analysis Using Generalized Linear Mixed Model and Bayesian Visualization
  • Nov 26, 2022
  • Axioms
  • Sunghae Jun

Many parts of big data, such as web documents, online posts, papers, patents, and articles, are in text form. So, the analysis of text data in the big data domain is an important task. Many methods based on statistics or machine learning algorithms have been studied for text data analysis. Most of them were analytical methods based on the generalized linear model (GLM). For the GLM, text data analysis is performed based on the assumption of the error included in the given data and follows the Gaussian distribution. However, the GLM has shown limitations in the analysis of text data, including data sparseness. This is because the preprocessed text data has a zero-inflated problem. To solve this problem, we proposed a text data analysis using the generalized linear mixed model (GLMM) and Bayesian visualization. Therefore, the objective of our study is to propose the use of GLMM to overcome the limitations of the conventional GLM in the analysis of text data with a zero-inflated problem. The GLMM uses various probability distributions as well as Gaussian for error terms and considers the difference between observations by clustering. We also use Bayesian visualization to find meaningful associations between keywords. Lastly, we carried out the analysis of text data searched from real domains and provided the analytical results to show the performance and validity of our proposed method.

  • Bustamam Ali + 2 more

Local wisdom as a legacy of the past is still found in the lives of the people of Aceh, especially in rural areas. One form of local wisdom that is still practiced today in the life of the people of Aceh is the customary Peusijuek. This study aims to describe and analyze. To describe and analyze the implementation of the tradition of peusijuek as a medium of social and cultural communication in Doy Village, Ulee Kareng District, Banda Aceh City and explore peusijuek in Gampong Doy, Ulee Kareng District, Banda Aceh City. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collected through observations, interviews, and relevant documents. Data analysis was made using an interactive process (Milles and Huberman) with stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing and verification to explain the concept of the tradition of peuijuek, and communication media. The results of this study indicate that the peuijuek procession begins by preparing ingredients that have quite a deep meaning such as plain flour, rice, leaves, and sticky rice. When everything is ready, then the peuijuek event will take place. The person who was guided was sitting quietly, and the person who was standing was standing and was also ready with an envelope containing the money to be given after the event was over. Peusijuek is usually done by elders in the community, such as Tengku (Ustadz) or Umi Chik (Ustadzah). If the family itself is usually done by mother, father, or all that is elder. The sequence of the peuijuek program begins with prayer, then sprinkles rice on the person who is patronized. Then sprinkle fresh flour water from left to right and from right to left, and occasionally crossed. Next, wash your hands and then pinch the pulut rice and feed it to the visitor. In essence, the same is to ask for prayer to the Almighty to be given the blessing, safety and peace of life. The final process of peuijuek is to slip an envelope filled with money to those who are guided. In principle, Peusijuek is to ask for safety, peace and happiness in life. The values contained in Peusijuek are religious values, philosophical values and cultural values. The final process of peuijuek is to slip an envelope filled with money to those who are guided.
