Abstract

Abstract Background: Nursing wards are hospital service facilities that are part of healing efforts or overcoming client problems. The nursing ward management system in a hospital will have an impact on the quality of service and performance provided to patients. Objective: This activity aims to make the implementation of nursing ward management in hospitals professionally. Methods: situational analysis was carried out using interviews and observations to find out the problems faced by partners. In developing alternative solutions as problem solving, the service team used the lecture method, question and answer, discussion, Brain Storming, simulation and practice. Results: the level of knowledge of nurses before participating in activities and after participating in mentoring activities there was an increase in the average knowledge of nurses from 5.4 before participating in mentoring activities to 7.5 after participating in mentoring. Evaluation of the implementation of operands and pre-post conferences in the room runs with an average of 85.2% and the implementation of supervision in the room runs with an average of 82.8%. The process of implementing demonstrations and simulations of role play activities showed an improvement from all participants after the mentoring activities were completed. Conclusion: mentoring activities have an effect on increasing the average level of knowledge and skills of nurses regarding the application of nursing ward management in hospitals.
