Abstract
This paper aims to explain the handling of covid-19 by the government of Samoa from the perspective of human security. This study uses qualitative research methods and data collection through literature studies from books, journals, newspapers and news sources. The results of the study are that the handling of Samoa's handling of the Samoan virus is known as preparedness, policies in the land and sea transportation sector, following standard health protocols, learning from the experience of failing to handle the Spanish flu and measles outbreaks. The role of the Samoan government, the ministry of health as well as Miss Samoa community leaders have had a major impact in preventing the spread of COVID-19. This has resulted in the number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Samoa being not confirmed or the number infected with this virus being 0 (zero).

Pada akhir desember 2019, dunia dihebohkan dengan munculnya wabah pandemik yang berasal dari provinsi Wuhan, Tiongkok yang dikenal dengan Covid -19 (Corona Virus). Hal ini mengakibatkan bahwa potensi untuk penyebaran covid-19 sangat riskan, akan tetapi negara ini menjadi salah satu negara yang mampu untuk meminimalisir penyebaran covid-19 dengan jumlah nol kasus Hal ini disebabkan karena ketersediaan akses kesehatan seperti tenaga medis yang memadai, kesadaran yang sangat tinggi dari pasien terhadap penyakit ini, ketersediaan obat-obatan di klinik serta bantuan yang difasilitasi oleh USAID (United States Agency for International Development,) atau Lembaga Pembangunan Internasional Amerika di Papua. Isu Covid-19 dalam studi hubungan internasional dikaji dalam perspektif realisme dengan melihat negara sebagai aktor utama untuk memproyeksikan pengaruhnya melalui kebijakan dan memanfaatkan diplomasi untuk mencapai tujuan kesehatan Global (Global Health). Kedua kajian tersebut belum menganalisa secara spesifik studi kasus yang terjadi di Samoa dengan isu penyakit menular yaitu covid-19
