Abstract

Pemphigus vulgaris is a chronic mucocutaneous disease of autoimmune origin, and oral manifestations are often the first signs. A 39-year-old woman presented to the service reporting pain in the oral cavity with evolution of 1 month. On intraoral physical examination, ulcerated lesions were observed in the region of buccal mucosa and gingiva, with a positive Nikosky sign. The patient did not present skin lesions. An incisional biopsy was performed, and the histopathology showed a cleft intraepithelial above the basal layer, diagnosed as pemphigus vulgaris. Prednisone 60 mg and dapsone 100 mg once a day for 1 month were prescribed. After 30 days, there was complete remission of the lesions. The patient is being followed up.
