Abstract
Imam al-Ghazali perspective, money has two function, those were a medium of exchange and as a unit of account. So, the money demand was for transaction motive and precautionary motive. Depend on, in conventional economics, the function of money was a store of value and wealth that make the demand money is for speculative motive. As the result of this was encourage a person to make money as a business commodity, that can be traded by interest orientation. Because, interest was considered as a price in using money. So, person was more interest in trading money in the non real sector, than used as a transaction in the real sector. Summary
Uang selalu menjadi topik menarik untuk diperbincangkan dalam kajian ekonomi Islam. Karena uang adalah nadi perekonomian. Ekonomi Islam memandang bahwa uang merupakan alat untuk mencapai pertambahan nilai ekonomis (economic added value) (Huda dan Nasution, 2009). Hal ini juga telah dijelaskan oleh Imam al-Ghazali dalam magnum copus-nya Ihya’ Uluumuddin, bahwa pada dasarnya uang adalah perantara dalam kegiatan ekonomi, sehingga uang hanya berfungsi sebagai alat tukar (medium of exchange) dan satuan hitung (unit of account) (Al Ghazali, Tth). Karena tindakan masyarakat (moral hazard) berupa spekulasi dan gharar (penipuan), berhasil membuat gelembung ekonomi (bubble economic) seperti yang terjadi dalam sistem keuangan modern sekarang ini, di antaranya dalam pasar modal. Meskipun terdapat kesamaan metode maupun teori, yakni teori tentang uang menurut pemikiran Imam al-Ghazali, akan tetapi penelitian ini memiliki titik perbedaan dengan penelitian sebelumnya, yakni pada fokus penelitian. Penelitian ini akan difokuskan pada fungsi dan motif permintaan uang menurut pemikiran Imam al-Ghazali dalam peranannya dalam pasar modal
