Abstract
Knowledge of landslide preparedness among the school community is very important when cope the disaster. School community must have the right knowledge and action to avoid the impact of a landslide disaster. Moreover, landslides can be occur at the school. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of preparedness and mapping the preparedness of school community in SMP/MTs Muhammadiyah in the cope of landslides in Karanganyar Regency. This research is quantitative descriptive using a questionnaire from LIPI. The sample of study consisted of 275 teachers and 562 students who were in SMP/MTs Muhammadiyah in Karanganyar. The results of this study indicate that the average level of disaster preparedness of students in most of the SMP/MTs Muhammadiyah in Kabupaten Karanganyar when cope the landslides disaster is good. This is evidenced by the high percentage of preparedness in students at 62.8%. The level of preparedness from the school is not yet ready to support students in improving disaster preparedness because the level of disaster preparedness possessed by teachers is still very low with a percentage of knowledge level of 27.47%. The low level of disaster knowledge possessed by teachers has an impact on the knowledge possessed by students, so there needs to be an increase in the knowledge possessed by the teacher.
