Abstract

Early age determines the continuity of a child to shape his personality later. One of the soft skills coaching for early childhood that can be done is through education at the Al-Qur'an Education Park (TPQ) which is oriented towards reading, understanding, and practicing the verses of the Koran that lead to human beings who have good character with the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Through soft skill coaching, it is hoped that it can produce a generation of our people who have personal and social competence to achieve true happiness. The purpose of this study was to determine the value of soft skills contained in the martial art of karate in TPQ Fathin Imamah. The source of respondents in this study consisted of 4 people who were teachers and administrators of the TPQ Fathin Imamah Jorong Hilie Guguk Dadok Muaro Sijunjung, West Sumatra, which was conducted in November-December 2019. This research focuses more on field research with a qualitative approach, namely the type of research case study. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the superior program of TPQ, namely the martial art of karate to make students a Qur'an, through the karate martial arts program fostering a firm, efficient, logical, and simple attitude, discipline, self-control, and self-confidence.
