Abstract

For a long time, Muslims have been accustomed to plotting with immovable objects, namely in the form of land and buildings. They donate the land to build mosques, hospitals or schools which can be useful for the benefit of the people. However, for the development and improvement of the institution, the land and building waqf properties can be productively empowered. Waqf empowerment can be done by professional naẓir in a way such as building a building on waqf land then renting it and the profit can be used for the benefit of the people. Along with the need for funds to alleviate poverty, development and improvement of institutions, it then came the idea to do waqf with money. Money is more flexible and does not recognize the boundaries of the distribution area. One of waqf productives is cash waqf which is usually in the form of cash given by the man who does waqf to the right receiver through the hands of amil (committee) zakat institutions, infak (charity) and alms or it could be with securities such as checks. The man who does waqf receives the Cash Endowment Certificate as proof that he has represented. Once the money or check is received, then cash is usually used for productive waqf by rotating for business or establishing the institution as long as it does not reduce the value and content of waqf objects. This paper seeks to examine the extent to which the potential of productive waqf, especially in Indonesia, especially in the Sabilur Rosyad Sidoarjo Foundation. In addition, to get a more in-depth review of the law of productive endowments in the Islamic view and also to get the right formula in optimizing the prospect of bright waqf, with directed to productive waqf
