Abstract

Empowerment of pineapple chips UMKM group is one alternative to improve the family welfare of the UMKM group, pineapple production continues to increase but not accompanied by a significant increase in income by the group of pineapple chips. This research is important to do with the consideration that 1) Community Empowerment is a solution in providing alternatives to Pre-Prosperous families or families, 2) UMKM are a populist economic driver that directly impacts Pre-prosperous families, especially village economies, 3) Pineapple production sector the high level in the village of Kualu Nenas must be coupled with the ability of the community to manage, distribute and thus have an impact on the village economy. The research method that will be used in this writing is qualitative research methods. While the research technique used is a case study research technique data collection will be carried out using in-depth interview techniques, non-participation observation and documentation studies. The collected data will be analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data categorization and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the process of empowering UMKM Pineapple Chips saw from five factors. Namely, the factor of Possibility, Strengthening, Protection, Supporting and Maintenance whose purpose was to improve the economic welfare of the family of MSMEs Pineapple Chips. As well as having obstacles in the field of capital and access to technology that has not yet maximized the process of empowering UMKM Pineapple Chips .
