Abstract

Lecturers in carrying out the duties of the Tri Darma of Higher Education will certainly produce various forms of scientific work resulting from various research and community service in their respective fields of knowledge. The rules contained in Article 1 number 6 of Law No. 20 of 2016 concerning Trademarks and Geographical Indications state that a Geographical Indication is a sign that shows the area of origin of a good and/or product which is due to geographical environmental factors including natural factors, human factors or a combination of both factors that give a certain reputation, quality and characteristics to the goods and/or products produced. West Sumatra is one of the provinces that also has the potential for Geographical Indications, including Solok Regency with Bareh Solok.
